DURING the Arab Spring uprisings much of Libya was devastated. Oil and gas infrastructure including tanks and pipelines became easy targets and many were destroyed.
Fast forward 10 years and the region is slowly being re-built. Oil production in Libya, which had been cut by more than 90% to 100,000 bpd, has now recovered to about 1 million bpd.
As the infrastructure is repaired and reconstructed, an opportunity presents itself for companies to implement new, innovative technology with a special focus on enhancing terminal security.
