Edible oils company ANA Oleo has awarded a INR 122.3 million (€1.49 million) contract to GBL Infra Engineering Services to build 60 new tanks at its Krishnapatnam Port edible oils refinery in Andhra Pradesh, India.
GBL Infra Engineering Services is the engineering subsidiary of Ganesh Benzoplast (GBL), which itself operates three storage terminals in India. The company will complete the tanks within a nine-month period. ANA Oleo is part of ANA Oils, a joint venture between Singaporean edible oil supplier Apical and commodity group Acalpo.
‘The receipt of this order only goes to further establish GB’s credibility as one of the key players in building liquid storage terminals. We are proud to be associated with a company, as substantial as ANA Oils. With the world economy constantly changing and opening up to new and unexpected events, it is important for us, to play a part in helping our nation make progress towards efficiency, sustainability and autarky. We look forward to a positive future of GBL and prepare ourselves for what’s to come,’ says Rishi Pilani, chairman and managing director of GBL.
The company says that winning the contract may help it to win the contract for the structural and piping works at the facility, as well as opening up opportunities in India’s eastern ports. Krishnapatnam Port, for example, is planning a US$2 billion (€1.9 billion) expansion programme
