Vitol Bunkers has opened a US Gulf Coast (USGC) bunker location, which will allow deep draught vessels to use the company’s services.
USGC Offshore will be served by Vitol Bunkers’ new vessel Mt Morholmen, a highly specialised barge with a manoeuvrable fender system offering optimal operational safety and protection for vessels during delivery.
‘This demonstrates our commitment to ensuring our bunkering operations conform to the highest international safety standards,’ says Vitol Bunkers.
The new offshore location adds to the company’s existing onshore Gulf Coast and Caribbean presence including in ports in Houston (Port Arthur, Beaumont, Lake Charles, Freeport, Galveston, Texas City) New Orleans, Lower Mississippi River, St Eustatia, St Maarten, St Kitts and St Barth.
Vitol Bunkers was launched in May 2021 and in June 2021, announced a Green Bunker Fuels service, with carbon offsetting for customers wanting to mitigate their CO2 emissions. It recently joined forces with Zhejiang Seaport International Trading (SeaportBunker), a subsidiary of Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group, to offer bunker fuels at Yangshan Port in China.
