CLH Group has begun using a new, more efficient pipeline monitoring system that incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) and satellite technology.
CLH can monitor the entire pipeline network using a 24-hour surveillance system, backed up by field inspections along the pipeline route, as well as by satellite monitoring. CLH can now use automated satellite imagery analysis using visual computing techniques, deep learning and geographic information systems. The company can also use business analytics techniques to add frequency rates, allowing it to pay particular attention to areas highlighted by the predictive models.
‘This new tool, fed by satellite images and supervised by an artificial intelligence model, complements traditional linear infrastructure monitoring methodology and makes it more efficient,’ says CLH.
The system can be tailored to each organisational level, stores all the infrastructure information in one place and provides an up-to-date graphical representation of the state of the pipeline network.
