China is to build its largest LNG reserve base in Jiangsu Province in the east of the country, according to Reuters.
The newswire quotes a report from Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, which said that the reserve will be developed in two phases. When complete, it will have a capacity of 20 million tonnes of LNG.
The first phase of development will begin operations in 2022 and consist of four storage tanks, each with a capacity of 220,000 m3, and a total receiving capacity of 3 million tpa. The second phase of development will include six more tanks, each with a capacity of 270,000 m3.
