Total Egypt and OLA Energy Egypt have signed a joint venture agreement to build, own and operate a new 10,000 m3 capacity petroleum products terminal in Alexandria, Egypt,
The Alexandria Petroleum Products Terminal (APPT) will occupy a 23,000 m2 plot at the Mex Petroleum Zone, near to Alexandria’s main refineries and Egypt’s National Petroleum Pipeline Grid. The first phase, expected to be complete by the end of 2022, will include four gasoline tanks, two gasoil tanks and a truck-loading gantry. There will also be a second phase of development.
APPT will be the main supply point for Total Egypt and OLA Energy Egypt and their customers in Alexandria, the wider north coast of Egypt and the North Delta region.
Peyami Oven, managing director of Total Egypt, says that APPT, on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast, will complement the company’s existing terminals in Mostorod and Suez, and enable the company to achieve its growth plans, meet customer needs and increase its market share.
Ahmed Elgembri, general manager of OLA Energy Egypt says that the project will help his company to realise its goal of being one of the major downstream marketers in both Egypt, and Africa as a whole.
