McDermott subsidiary CB&I Storage Solutions has been awarded the contract to provide engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction (EPFC) for new tanks as part of the Trans Mountain Expansion Project in Canada.
CB&I will build 14 flat-bottom atmospheric storage tanks of various sizes up to 185 ft (56.4 m) in diameter at the site in Burnaby, British Columbia. The new tanks will increase the nominal capacity of the of the Trans Mountain Pipeline System from 300,000 to 890,000 BPD.
