CHEMUK 2020, which was scheduled to take place from 16-17 September 2020, has been postponed again, and will now take place from 12-13 May 2021 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, UK.
The event was originally due to take place in May 2020 at EventCity in Manchester, but was re-scheduled for September as a result of the COVID-19 lockdown. Unfortunately, without sufficient clarity from the UK government as yet about when large-scale business events will be allowed to take place, or what new health and safety protocols for venues, visitors, exhibitors and contributors might be required, the organisers have taken the decision to postpone the event again.
All exhibitor stand reservations for the event will automatically be transferred to the new 2021 floor plans for the NEC, which will be drawn in the coming weeks, with no increase in cost. Exhibit stands will remain the same shape and size. The conference programme will be updated but will reflect the original 2020 planned programme themes, panels and keynotes.
‘The decision was not taken lightly, but reflects exhibitor opinion,’ says Jini Stone, Director of CHEMUK 2020 Supply Chain Expo & Conference, adding: ‘As custodians of the CHEMUK annual event, with such comprehensive industry support behind the event, we must responsibly ensure that conditions are appropriate for such a large and complex event to proceed. The postponement of the CHEMUK 2020 into May 2021 is unequivocally designed to provide this.’
