CLH-PS has started to implement some significant projects following the first year of its operations in the UK.
Following the acquisition of the Government Pipeline Storage System in May 2015, the company has embarked on a major programme of modernisation of its assets as well as the implementation of new advanced technologies.
Significant investment in infrastructure will take place until the end of 2018, however some of the main projects have already begun, including the plan to update the internal and external servicing of all the storage tanks currently in use across the network the improvement of in storage tank containment and further upgrades to the cathodic protection systems on the pipelines.
Plans are also in place to renew 30% of the network pumps during 2017. CLH-PS CEO Charles Price explains: ‘In 2016 we will be spending circa £30 million (€38 million) on our network. This level of investment is unusual in the UK industry over such a short space of time.’
Additionally, the company is also in-sourcing its operation and maintenance services, which is due to be complete by the end of 2016.
