A growing demand for terminal services in South America has prompted QC Terminales to complete several capacity expansion projects.
Following the acquisition of two facilities in San Antonio and Guayaquil at the end of 2013, the management teams at QC Terminales embarked on expansion projects.
The Guayaquil facility in Ecuador increased its capacity by 1,730 m3, bringing overall capacity to 21,100 m3.
The San Antonio terminal project involved the addition of 6,200 m3 with five new tanks as well as a new loading platform with three truck positions, a truck weighing scale and pier to terminal pipelines.
An additional expansion project is underway, with the addition of a further 3,200 m3 comprising four new tanks. This will increase overall capacity to 31,000 m3 in the third quarter of 2016.
All these expansion projects represent an investment of $13 million.
