A project involving the construction of an oil product pipeline with a terminal point at Ust-Luga port is being examined by Transneft.
Sergey Andronov, vice president of Transneft confirmed at the Oil Terminal 2015 congress in St. Petersburg that the company was exploring the project, which would transport oil products from Russia and Belarus.
The project is under discussion with several interested companies and Ust-Luga port.
A decision about project feasibility will be taken in case the solid resource base is available.
Andronov said: ‘Some of the refineries in the European part of Russia cannot be hooked up to the Sever oil product pipeline running to Primorsk.
The overall length of the oil product offshoot from Belarussian refineries can be up to 800 km long and could deliver around five million tons of diesel annually.
