A petroleum liquids storage terminal with a capacity of up to 10 million barrels has been announced by Pin Oak Terminals.
In a joint announcement with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, the company plans to make a $600 million capital investment in St. John the Baptist Parish.
The facility will be located along the east bank of the Mississippi River at Mount Airy.
Services at the facility include offloading, storage, heating, blending and transfer of petroleum liquids. Pin Oak Terminals is permitted to construct up to 10 million barrels of storage and unit train loops on the 431 acre site.
CEO Mike Reed says: ‘We are very excited to start Pin Oak Terminals in Louisiana and look forward to expanding our footprint with this new storage terminal facility.
‘We plan to grow the facility overtime and work with our partners to continue on past successes. Our focus on growth is centered on superior customer service, safety first work habits, and uncompromising environmental awareness.
Construction is expected to begin this year, and operations are expected to being in late 2016.
The company has plans to significantly expand phase one of its operations over the next five years.
