South Africa’s Strategic Fuel Fund Association (SFF) plans to refurbish almost 40 storage tanks near Cape Town.
According to Reuters, in documents handed to the government’s energy committee, the SFF, which manages the country’s emergency crude stocks, plans to refurbish 7.5 million barrels of storage at its Milnerton terminal. The facility receives crude through a pipeline from Cape Town port.
Each of the tanks hold 200,000 barrels. The tanks will take advantage of new oil finds in Africa.
