A decaying oil pipeline network is set to be rebuilt between Colombo Harbour and Kolonnawa in Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan government has decided to allocate funds to rebuild the cross country pipeline network which carries oil from the Colombo Harbour to the Kolonnawa Wholesale Terminal.
The network is thought to be around 50 years old and is in a very poor state, according to Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka.
A study of the infrastructure and other facilities will be carried out before construction starts on the new network.
There will be an open international tender for the construction contractor.
