VTTI Fujairah Terminal’s bespoke tank farm project which will result in a crude storage, processing and fuel oil blending facility in Fujairah is due to be complete in April 2016.
The construction project, on behalf of a major energy company, was designed and agreed to in just five months after a long-term, exclusive storage and rental agreement was signed back in February 2015.
In early February, the team mobilised on-site for the project kick-off phase, and in Singapore engineers at the EPC contractor worked on completing the detail design and procurement of materials. Construction of the tank foundations is also underway.
Once complete in April 2016, the facility will have a 430,000 m3 capacity tank farm of heated, black oil tanks under the long-term agreement.
There will also be additional storage from VTTI FTL’s existing capacity, which will boost capacity within the contract to 475,000 m3.
VTTI will also provide operation resources for the new processing facility on-site as well as all required connections to the terminal’s tankage.
The project is VTTI’s largest for two years and it will also be the terminal’s fastest constructed to date.
VTTI says in a statement: ‘VTTI is proud to be working with this customer, a multi-billion euro, publicly listed energy company.’
