Transneft Kozmino Port is to construct two oil storage tanks with a combined capacity of 100,000 m3 at its oil depot.
Kozmino oil port in Russia has 10 tanks within its tank farm – each with a capacity of 50,000 m3. The two additional tanks, which will also have a capacity of 50,000 m3 each, will bring total storage capacity at the site to 600,000 m3.
Port officials said that the development will increase the volume of exported ESPO oil into countries within the Asian and Pacific region.
Both tanks will come complete with a floating tank roof to minimise any detrimental environmental impacts.
Work on the tanks will start in 2016 following an extension of the far-east terminal of Transneft JSC throughput capacity. An access dam with improvement works in the water area of terminal two of the oil pier will be reconstructed. This will allow tanks with a deadweight of up to 150,000 tons at both terminals
