A contract for a facility to store and handle petroleum coke, which will be produced following the completion of a refinery improvement project has been put to market.
The facility will be built at the port of Sohar, close to the Sohar Refinery Improvement Project and will consist of two reinforced cement concrete silos with a storage capacity of 30,000 tonnes, as well as belt feeders and conveyors and other equipment to support the production, storage and export chain.
The Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) has invited companies with experience in establishing pet coke storage facilities to put their submissions to tender for the pet coke handling and storage facility.
The facility will allow for this commodity to be exported via the port.
The contract also includes design and engineering, supply of materials, construction as well as testing and commissioning of the storage and handling facility.
The invitation to tender to Orpic ends on May 4.
