A series of UK assets including three terminals have been acquired from Murco Petroleum Limited, a subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation by Puma Energy.
The midstream and downstream energy company has acquired the Milford Haven oil refinery in Wales as well as three inland terminals at Westerleigh, Theale and Bedworth and Murco’s wholesale and distribution business in the UK.
The acquisition will add an additional 1.4 million m3 of storage capacity to Puma Energy’s current 5.6 million m3 total capacity.
Under the agreement, which represents Puma Energy’s first acquisition in the UK, the company will acquire the assets and convert the Milford Haven site into a state-of-the-art storage facility.
The company will welcome all terminal and distribution employees.
In a statement Puma Energy said it will apply its extensive experience in fuel storage at the facility – which will help make Milford Haven a key site securing the supply of energy to the UK market and wider region during a period of change in European energy infrastructure.
Pierre Eladari, CEO for Puma Energy says: ‘Puma Energy continues our focused strategy of connecting supply from international markets to local distribution demand.’
