Development of a new oil product storage facility at the site of the shuttered Coryton refinery in Essex, England, has been put on hold with no new timetable, reports Reuters.
Originally planned to open at the end of 2013, the Thames Oilport project – a JV between Vopak, Shell and Greenergy – has faced repeated delays due to technical problems.
The partners are now reported to be putting the development on hold yet again as they assess the costs of converting the refinery, closed down in 2012 after previous owner Petroplus went bankrupt.
Costs have risen over the past year, reports Reuters, and the timetable is now subject to review.
