Sunoco Logistics has announced a number of projects that will see a rise in products being transported in both the US and Europe.
The company will build a pipeline to connect Longview and West Texas, to deliver crude oil from West Texas to the Mid Valley pipeline situated at Longview, Texas and to the Houston, Texas area.
Sunoco will also build a new railcar storage at its Nederland terminal which is expected to create about 200 construction jobs as well as 12 permanent positions.
For the pipelines, they will begin by transporting about 40,000bpd to Houston and 30,000bdp to Longview. The West Texas to Houston section of the pipeline is scheduled to come online by April 2012 and the West Texas to Longview will be in operation by January 2013.
For the Nederland project, Sunoco says it is part of its plan to invest in the facility to meet higher customer demand.
As part of the development, the company will build a 14 foot high decorative sound barrier wall to stop noise from escaping.
Sunoco has also asked that a part of the Helena Avenue, where the project is being developed, is closed so that noise and delays from the frequent railroad crossings are minimised.
