Stolt-Nielsen has come to a temporary agreement to acquire a bulk-liquid storage terminal in the Port of Moerdijk, the Netherlands.
The company is expected to close the acquisition from Den Hartogh Holdings on 31 December 2011, subject to agreement on the final contract.
The terminal comprises 30 stainless steel tanks, which have a capacity of 17,720cbm in total. It also includes a drumming operation, three warehouses, a jetty with a draft of 8.4m and a tank container storage depot.
‘This terminal provides Stolthaven with valuable stainless steel storage capacity in the Antwerp – Rotterdam – Amsterdam region, and provides us with room for future expansion,’ says Stolthaven Terminals’ president, Walter Wattenbergh.
‘The location of the terminal fits well with the company’s inter-European coastal tankers and inland barging services. In addition, the acquisition will provide Stolt Tank Containers with a site for a new cleaning and repair depot.
