Reports from Iraqi officials say an oil storage tank in the south of the country has been attacked.
The tank, located in oilfields in the southern province of Basra, was targeted on Saturday night and although there were no injuries reported, fire fighters were needed to put out the flames.
It is so far unsure whether a bomb or an air strike was the cause of the attack but oil pumping in the area has ceased.
Although oil infrastructure is often a popular target for militants, there are normally less attacks in the south of the country.
Authorities are investigating.
