Oiltanking, the Hamburg, Germany-based subsidiary of petroleum company Marquard & Bahls, has commissioned its new expansion storage capacity at its site in Daya Bay, China.
Oiltanking Daya Bay has added a total of 18 new carbon steel and stainless steel product tanks with a total capacity of 59,000 m3. Construction took less than a year.
The tanks, with individual capacities ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 m3, will hold chemicals including acids and alcohols.
The terminal has also been expanded by two vessel berths, with 5,000 dwt (dead weight tonnage), costing CNY120 million (€13.5m) – paid for by Huiza Daya Bay Oiltanking Petrochemical Public Jetty.
The new jetty has already loaded its first vessel with 1,500 metric tonnes of Methyl Methacrylate.
