In Tonawanda, New York, a chemical storage tank at a DuPont facility exploded, killing one worker and severely burning another on 9 November.
Mollenberg Specialty Contractor employees were working on a 10,000 gallon tank when the explosion occurred. The tank, which was empty, would normally hold a chemical called vinyl fluoride.
As a result of the explosion, 57-year-old Richard Folaron of South Wales was pronounced dead at the scene. William Freeburg, 50, of Angola suffered burns to his face and neck.
The police department will be continuing its investigation of the industrial accident. OSHA is also currently handling its own investigation of the event.
