Vopak is looking to increase its current 450,000m3 of liquid storage capacity in Spain by building another terminal.
The new terminal will be built in Algeciras in southern Spain with a capacity of 400,000m3 at a cost of 130 million.
Construction work will soon begin on Vopak Terminal Algeciras, which expects to handle between 7 and 8 million tonnes a year. The build will take around two years.
Vopaks two current two terminals in Spain store petroleum, chemicals and vegoils. Vopak Terminal Terquimsa Barcelona has a capacity of 39,191m3, and Vopak Terminal Terquimsa Tarragona has a capacity of 416,060m3.
