In Indiana, US, an estimated 20,000 gallons of oil spilled from a storage tank at an Eastside bulk storage facility on 7 September.
A broken valve leaked oil from the above-ground tank at Metal Working Lubricants. The tank held about 120,000 gallons of oil before the spill. Efforts to recover the remaining oil and clean up the spill are expected to continue for several days.
The Marion County Health Department will test a sample of water from the well of a nearby home to ensure that the spill was contained to the site.
