In south-west Russia Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group (NCSP) experienced less handling of bulk liquid cargo in the first half of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009.
NCSPs turnover of liquid cargo totalled 27,481.9 thousand tonnes, 1,488.8 thousand tonnes less than the volumes in H1 2009.
Bulk cargo volumes in the first six months of 2010 totalled 7,092.5 thousand tonnes, a 5.7% drop from the volumes of same period last year, conditioned by the decrease of iron ore exports.
Volumes of UAN liquid fertiliser and petroleum products retained positive growth rates in the reporting period and increased by 17.9% (34.2 thousand tonnes) and 2.4% (158.3 thousand tonnes) respectively.
In the first half of 2010 export volumes of crude oil reduced by 1.6 million tonnes, while the 1 million tonne dip happened in June versus May 2010, mostly due to the fact that some producers corrected their shipping schedules expecting a better market in July.
