Throughout May 2010 the Kulevi oil terminal in the Samegrelo region of Georgia, owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), handled 393,000 tonnes of oil.
This includes 66,000 tonnes of Azerbaijani mazut, 167,000 tonnes of Azerbaijani diesel and 160,000 tonnes of Kazakh crude oil. The terminal is expected to receive approximately 2 million tonnes of Kazakh oil until 2011.
In April the oil terminal recorded handling of 4 million tonnes of oil since the inauguration in 2008. A total of $340 million (274 million) has been invested in the oil terminal construction.
