Mogas Petroleum will build a new fuel storage depot in Kampala, Uganda.
The sh5 billion (1.82 million) depot built on a four-acre plot of land in Banda will have one of the largest loading terminals in the country with huge storage tanks.
We are putting up five huge storage tanks with a capacity of 86,000 litres of fuel per tank. There will be two tanks dedicated to petrol, two for diesel and one for kerosene, Partha Ghosh, MD of Mogas Petroleum, says. All our tanks are modern and the two tanks that are specifically for petroleum are built with a special blanket made of aluminum film to handle evaporation loss, Ghosh adds.
In the past the company has been limited by its operating hours for loading fuel. With this development it will be able to load fuel at anytime thereby maintaining a constant supply of product to its up-country stations.
The depot will also serve as a storage and point-of-sale for their automotive and industrial lubricant clients. Mogas Uganda has over 20 stations across the country
