The throughput of Varandey terminal totalled 2,563,600 tonnes of oil from January to April 2010 11.8% more than the same period of 2009. In April 2010 alone the terminal shipped 623,700 tonnes of oil, 9.4% more than the 2009 period, and 18.1% less than March 2010.
In the first four months of the year Vitino port throughput totalled 1,506,500 tonnes of cargo, 1.1% less than in the same period of 2009. In Q1 2010 total throughput fell 4.8% year on year. The whole volume of cargo accounted for oil product export. In April 2010 Vitino port handled 411,500 tonnes of cargo, 10.4% more than the same period of 2009, and 14.9% more than March 2010.
Exports of Russian crude oil through the port of Primorsk (the Leningrad Region) in January-April 2010 decreased by 4.9% compared with the same period last year, to 23.234 million tonnes.
This April the crude oil volume handled by the stevedore dropped to 5.9 million tonnes. The decrease was due to planned maintenance of the oil pipelines, which had led to suspended oil transportation and February volume decline. However, TransNefts plan to transship 75 million tonnes of crude oil by the end of 2010 via Primorsk Oil Terminal is expected to be fulfilled.
