In Indonesia Royal Vopak and partners PT AKR Corporindo Tbks Vopak Terminal Jakarta has officially opened for operation.
The newly built terminal in Tanjung Priok is the first independent import and distribution terminal for oil products in Jakarta, Indonesia, and will support the storage and distribution needs of the Indonesian and global oil industry.
The CEO of Royal Vopak in the Netherlands John Paul Broeders officially opened the terminal, along with the president director of PT AKR Corporindo Tbk in Indonesia.
Indonesias market is currently expanding and has been since 2005 when the region began to open up its oil market to private participation.
Also on the rise are Indonesias import needs for oil products. The two companies recognized this opportunity and in response to demands constructed the Vopak Terminal Jakarta terminal.
The terminals 250,800m3 storage capacity will enable the distribution of oil products in the greater Jakarta area.
