Quick-thinking has rescued the environment from a petrol leak in Victoria, Australia.
A leak sprung from a 13 million litre petrol tank at the Altona oil refinery, operated by US energy company Exxon Mobil.
An initial assessment shows no structural issues are expected. The unleaded petrol in the tank, which was not full at the time, is being transferred to alternative storage.
Altona, the smallest of Australias seven refineries, is 8 miles from Melbourne and supplies half of Victorias fuel needs.
The leak has not affected other operations at the plant.
