A new liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal will be built in Ust-Luga, following licensing approvals from the ministry of regional development.
The new terminal will be built by Sibur-Portenergo, a subsidiary of SIBUR. The handling complex in the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region is meant for transshipment of liquefied petroleum gas and light oil.
The company has received all necessary documents, completed the design and began developing work documentation. It will start the construction in Q1 2010. The designed annual capacity of the new complex is estimated at 1.5 million tonnes of shipped LNG and 2.5 million tonnes of light oil.
