US-based independent bulk liquid terminal operator Blackwater New Orleans subsidiary has struck a deal to lease base oil storage tanks.
Blackwater Midstream has reached a commercial agreement with its existing international petroleum customer for the lease of four additional base oil storage tanks, totalling 20,000 barrels, to the customer's existing system at the Westwego, Louisiana facility.
Scheduled to commence by months end the new agreement will bring the customer's total system capacity to 64,000 barrels.
Blackwater Midstream completed its first acquisition in December 2008 of a 752,000 barrel terminal in Westwego, Louisiana, in the Port of New Orleans from NuStar Energy.
Expansion plans for an additional 150,000 barrel capacity are under way. A total of five acres at the facility are available for new tank construction and site expansion.
