Kansas, US-based Flint Hills Resources has announced the company will build a new fuel terminal near Austin to serve Central Texas.
The terminal will begin operating in 2010.
Census data has shown about 400,000 people moved to the Austin/San Antonio area in the last five years. The population growth is driving increased fuel demand.
The fuel terminal will include storage tanks and a four-bay truck-loading facility on property that provides access to the companys proprietary refined products pipeline.
The Flint Hills Resources terminal footprint will cover less than 15 acres of the Caldwell County property.
