Noord Naties' expansion plan at its Antwerp terminal is ready for construction, and could be completed by mid-2009. The plan is to expand the capacity by 28,600 m3. It will add two tank pits, one with seven tanks with a capacity of 1,000 m3 each and six of 1,800 m3 each, and another tank pit with six tanks of 1,800 m3. It will be next to the 9,000 m3 storage facility at the Antwerp for Storage terminal (A4S).
The tank sizes have been determined by optimising the layout and flexibility. In case of need of bigger tank sizes, a combination of a number of tanks can be made. The tanks will store all types of chemicals, oleochemicals, base oils, vegetable oils and biodiesel.
All tanks and equipment will be stainless steel. Each tank will have its dedicated product and vapour return line and pump. All tanks have connection to quay 227/229 for vessels and barges and to quay 233 for barges only. Each tank pit will have its truck loading station. All tanks have connection for truck loading and the majority of the tanks can be connected to rail.
At this stage all permits have been obtained and allow NNT to store a broad variety of products. The engineering study is completed and construction can start soon.
The terminal will be jointly operated by the experienced and reliable Noord Natie Terminals and A4S team.
