Oiltanking has started up its new terminal in the Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park, Huizhou City – the company's first terminal in the People's Republic of China.
The construction of the terminal began in July 2005 and Phase 1 – which consisted of four storage tanks with a total capacity 15,550 cu m – was completed on schedule, says the company. The terminal is connected to the CNOOC – Shell Petrochemicals Company jetty for the import and export of bulk petrochemicals.
Oiltanking had earlier announced that it is expanding its petroleum storage and jetty capacity in its Malta terminal, adding 90,000 cu m of storage and an extra berth. The new tanks will increase the total storage capacity of Oiltanking Malta to 560,000 cu m.
The additional berth will accommodate vessels up to 50,000 dwt and with a draft of 13.5m. In total Oiltanking Malta has 4 berths for vessels up to 120,000 dwt with a draft of 16m.
